PORT DICKSON: Thank you to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for not doing much here, says Barisan's Port Dickson candidate Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
"I have to say thank you to him as he didn’t do anything, because if he did something in the last four years, it would be hard for us to campaign here.
"The people here are saying they don’t like the previous MP," said Kamalanathan, who is contesting the constituency in the 15th General Election.
Kamalanathan said this before his walkabout in the Taman Lukut Hartamas area on Monday (Nov 7).
He said that Anwar had not endeared himself to the people here as their MP because he was hardly in the area.
"This is what the voters here are telling me. For me, my record is there to be checked.
"I came back and did work," he said, adding that the people here wanted change.
Speaking of one of his opponents, Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, he said that it would not be an easy fight.
"As a Mentri Besar, he has a lot of advantages. But the feedback I’m getting over the last two days has been positive.
"However, I will not rest on my laurels," he said.
