MALAYSIAN-BORN actor Christopher Lee made history again after bagging Best Supporting Actor at the 57th Golden Bell Awards, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 51-year-old was honoured for his role in the popular Taiwanese drama Danger Zone, making him the first Malaysian to have triumphed in three separate categories of Golden Bell, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmy Awards.

He first won Best Leading Actor in a TV Series in 2014 and Best Leading Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film in 2021 for his roles in A Good Wife and Workers.

The Melaka native, however, skipped the awards ceremony on Oct 22 because of a foot injury. Accepting the trophy on his behalf was Danger Zone director Kuan-Chung Chen.

Lee thanked the production company and dedicated the win to his Singaporean actress wife Fann Wong, 51, and their son Zed, eight.

The veteran star started his acting career at Singapore’s Mediacorp in the early 1990s before venturing into the Taiwanese drama scene a decade ago.

> A man in Johor Baru known only as Ah Tian has taken to posting a handwritten letter all over town in a bid to find the woman of his dreams, reported China Press.

Ah Tian wrote that he had met the woman in 2017 when she was working at a bank’s local branch.

Ah Tian said they had a pleasant chat at a restaurant in Plaza Pelangi but when he went looking for her again he was told she had resigned.

“I hope Yvonne from Masai still remembers the chat we had. I’m sorry to use such a way to look for you. I hope you won’t be angry,” he wrote.

A passer-by took a photo of the letter and uploaded it. Many netizens helpfully tagged friends named Yvonne but as of press time, there’s no luck yet for Ah Tian.
