Dr Wee: BN's Johor track record shows it can bring stability and draw investors

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional has a proven track record of bringing stability and boosting investor confidence as shown in Johor, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said this was seen after Barisan won a two-thirds majority in the recent Johor state election, resulting in political stability that has boosted foreign investor confidence.

"Just within 100 days, the Barisan-led state government attracted both domestic and foreign investments with a total value of RM60.9bil.

"This contributed to close to half the total investment amount nationwide of RM123.3bil (in that period), a reflection of the importance of stability in order for the government to move forward," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Oct 23).

The previous night, he attended the fifth United Lee's Association of Johor anniversary celebration at Dewan Che Ann Khor in Yong Peng.

He said attendance at the event was encouraging with all 80 tables filled.

Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister, shared the latest developments on the Johor Baru-Woodlands RTS Link and East Coast Rail Link projects at the dinner.

Also present were association president Lee Eng Hong and state health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon.
