KUALA LUMPUR: Business premises that produce scheduled waste must be registered in the Electronic Schedule Waste Information System (eSWIS) to enable the Environment Department to track the waste disposal process.
Kuala Lumpur DOE deputy director Datuk Dr Mohammad Ezanni Mat Salleh, said that premises owners who fail to do so can be issued with a RM2,000 compound notice and risk being prosecuted under Section 34B of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 if they do not comply with the regulations.
