GE15: Going solo aside, Barisan's track record will convince voters, says Ku Nan

PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional's track record will earn the continued support of the people in GE15 even though the coalition is going solo, says Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic).

"If the people look back on what Barisan has done, they will continue to support Barisan," the Umno treasurer-general said in a recent interview.

"Barisan is a multiracial, multicultural and multi-ethnic (coalition), and it represents all communities in Malaysia, Malay, Chinese or Indian."

On Thursday (Oct 13), Barisan chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the coalition would go solo in GE15 following PAS' decision to continue its collaboration with Perikatan Nasional.

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the decision was made in the spirit of unity of the ummah.

Elaborating on the cooperation between PAS and Bersatu, Tengku Adnan said: "That is their choice. We respect that, and (wish them well).

"We once tried to unite all parties through Muafakat Nasional, but it did not work out, so we decided to go solo."
