Pahang Regent attends Royal Commissioning Parade

KUALA LUMPUR: The Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the Royal Commissioning Parade and the presentation of certificates of appointment of the 2022 Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) cadet officers at the Army Commander’s Square in Kem Perdana Sungai Besi here.

The arrival of Tengku Hassanal was received by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and MAF chief Jen Tan Sri Affendi Buang.

The parade involved 643 MAF cadet officers from four service colleges namely the Military Training Academy, the Army Academy, KD Sultan Idris 1 and the Air Force Academy, led by senior junior officer Mohd Aiman ​​Amzar Mohamad Pazli.

Of the total, seven received the Sword of Honour award as the best cadet officer for each service.

After the parade ceremony, the Regent of Pahang also presented certificates of appointment to 416 Malaysian Army cadet officers, 101 Royal Malaysian Navy cadet officers and 126 Royal Malaysian Air Force cadet officers. This was followed by the officer’s pledge of allegiance and presentation of the pledge scroll by the newly commissioned junior officers.

Yesterday’s ceremony is held annually but was not carried out for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The parade was jointly held for the second time after the first in 2019.

Also present were Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Muez Abd Aziz, service chiefs and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia vice-chancellor Lt Gen Datuk Hasagaya Abdullah. — Bernama
