PETALING JAYA: It is time for the top leadership of Perikatan Nasional to make a final decision regarding seat distribution, says its women’s wing chief Datuk Seri Rina Harun.
“The women’s wing is urging the top leadership to have better planning and a dynamic direction in facing the 15th General Election.
“We are confident that the coalition is capable of forming a new political force as an ‘alternative voice’ representing all Malaysians.
“As such, we hope [they] will take a firm stand on the issue of politics in order to move forward as a powerful coalition,” she said.
This came after a meeting yesterday between the women state chiefs and deputies from Perikatan component parties – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, PAS, Gerakan, Sabah Progressive Party and Sabah STAR.
Rina said the wing was also concerned over the “overzealous attitude and behaviour” of certain political leaders who were calling for Parliament to be dissolved.
She said their desperate action urging Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob needed to be stopped immediately.
“Do not misuse the democratic process. Irresponsible action such as this will only affect the country’s economic recovery process.
“The fate and future of the people need to be prioritised in view of the monsoon season,” she said.
