PETALING JAYA: It is time for the top Perikatan Nasional leadership to make a final decision on seat distribution and plans for the 15th General Election (GE15), says its Women's wing chief Datuk Seri Rina Harun.

Her statement came after a meeting on Tuesday (Sept 27) with the wing's state chiefs and their deputies from Perikatan component parties, namely Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, PAS, Gerakan, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Sabah STAR.

"The wing is urging the top leadership to have a more planned and dynamic direction for facing GE15.

"The wing is confident that the coalition is capable of forming a new political force as an 'alternative voice' representing the Malaysian people.

"As such, we hope the party's leadership will take a firm stand on the issue of politics in order to move forward as a powerful coalition," Rina said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 28).

She also said the wing was concerned by the overzealous attitude and behaviour of certain political leaders calling for Parliament to be dissolved to pave the way for GE15.

She said their desperate action of urging Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to dissolve Parliament should stop at once.

"Do not misuse the democratic process. Irresponsible actions like this will only affect the country's economic recovery.

"The fate and future of the people need to be prioritised during the monsoon season. We need to be with the people," she added.
