Dad beats up twin sons for late-night outings

KLANG: Angered by his twin 11-year-old sons constantly going out and coming home late, a lorry driver beat and punched their faces.

The man even beat his wife, who tried to intervene and stop him from assaulting their two children at their home at Taman Sentosa here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said police received a call from a woman on Monday, claiming that her husband slapped and punched their sons.

“The incident occurred at a house at Jalan Bendahara 8, Taman Sentosa.

“The woman also claimed that she tried to stop him from hitting the boys, but she was beaten as well,” he said in a statement yesterday.

ACP Cha said a police team was deployed to the scene and a 44-year-old suspect was arrested at around 7.30pm.

“Our investigations show the suspect and complainant have five children.

“The suspect allegedly has a bad temper and constantly beats the twins,” he said, adding that the boys had scars from previous beatings on their bodies, which were not reported.

He said the reason for the beating was said to be due to the two boys going out and returning home late.

“Checks also showed the suspect has three prior records for crime and drug-related offences.

“The suspect has been remanded for four days to help with investigations,” he said.
