Help Barisan retain Tapah seat, supporters urged

TAPAH: Only Barisan Nasional has the “DNA” in its blood to look after the welfare of the people, says MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

He added that the Barisan parties of Umno, MCA and MIC understood the people’s struggles and would always look after them.

On the other hand, he said the people had seen how the Pakatan Harapan parties were fighting among themselves instead of caring for the needs of the people.

He said Malaysians had seen the failure of the Pakatan administration when it was in power for 22 months.

“Pakatan was given the chance to run the country and they should no longer be given that opportunity again,” he added

“Don’t make the same mistake again. If we (Barisan) fail to win, the people will become victims,” he said during the launch of the Tapah Barisan 15th General Election (GE15) machinery here yesterday.

Also present at the event were Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Ayer Kuning assemblyman Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan and Tapah Barisan and Umno chairman Ishsam Shahruddin.

Saravanan, who is Tapah MP, expressed confidence that the parliamentary constituency would still be a Barisan stronghold after GE15.

He urged the supporters to remain united and work hard to ensure that Barisan retained the seat.

Saravanan claimed that Barisan lost the Chenderiang state seat in Tapah due to internal factors and not due to the strength of the opposition.

He commended Chenderiang

Barisan candidate, Choong Shin Heng who has continued to serve the constituents there despite losing the seat in the previous election.

In GE14, Choong from MCA lost to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s Ahmad Faizal Azumu by a slim 39-vote majority.
