Kite maker flies high into records book

PASIR GUDANG: Kite maker Hisamsuddin Sater is on cloud nine after his unique peacock-shaped Wau Merak wowed visitors at the Kite and Wau Festival at Bukit Layang-Layang here.

Made with the frame of the wood of an areca nut tree and kain tenun Johor – a handwoven fabric with traditional Johor motifs – the kite is 3.35m tall and 2.74m wide.
