SEREMBAN: Budget 2023 will be a wholesome one that will look into the wellbeing of the people and help them face challenges that come their way, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Prime Minister said the government was aware of the challenges faced by the people such as the rising prices of goods.
"Among our priorities are to create more jobs, increase the peoples' income and ensure businesses can continue to operate.
"The government will also ensure a safe and conducive living environment with an inclusive development in line with Malaysia's commitment to the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030," he said when closing the 37th National Chinese Cultural Festival here.
Also present were Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Huazong president Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan and Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing.
Budget 2023 will be tabled on Oct 7.
The government, he said, will also continue to focus on efforts to empower the Chinese community through initiatives that will be announced in the budget.
Ismail Sabri also urged Huazong to organise more such events in future, adding that more such events should be held to foster goodwill among multiracial Malaysians.
The four-day festival was organised by the Negri Sembilan Chinese Assembly Hall.
"The government encourages the organising of such events as it allows multiracial Malaysians to understand the different philosophies and cultures which will only bring us together
"My dream is to create a peaceful and harmonious nation where we can all live as one big family," he added.
