Cops arrest three over Pulau Indah luxury car theft

SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested three men in connection with the theft of a luxury car.

The men allegedly stole a Mercedes Benz car from Pulau Indah on Monday morning (Sept 12) before police caught up with them at Petaling Jaya.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the three men were arrested at Damansara at around 8.30pm on Monday.

"Our checks revealed the suspects have multiple prior records.

"They had stolen a luxury car at Pulau Indah before we tracked them down and arrested them," he told reporters after launching a townhall discussion with resident representatives at the Selangor police headquarters on Tuesday (Sept 13).

He said further investigations revealed the three men were aged in their 30s and 40s.

"We will remand the suspects to help with further investigations," he said.

A video believed to be CCTV footage from the incident has been circulated on social media.

The one-minute and 14-second video shows a Volkswagen Passat parked outside a house when three men are seen opening the house gate before entering the vehicle.

Once the Volkswagen car is driven off, a white Mercedes A-Class is seen being driven out of the house compound.

A woman is then seen running out of the house holding an object.

She is seen running into an alleyway near the house.
