THE music produced by Santosh Logendran was praised by filmmakers, including owner of the Skop Productions Sdn Bhd empire Datuk Yusof Haslam who considers Santosh’s touch to be of international standard, Berita Harian reported.

In addition to the story plot, actors and filming techniques, the music element in a film is no less important in giving soul to the work produced.

The film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan, which grossed more than RM90mil, is still the talk of the town but many may not know the person behind the production of the musical score with a Malay soul.

Santosh, 30, who started his career as a music engineer about nine years ago, said his work would have been better with a bigger budget.

“Even with a tight budget, I tried to give the best touch. In total, it took me six months to complete the entire music score of the film because there were many changes at the last minute,” he added.

He studied traditional music from a young age and the exposure allowed Santosh to understand music in the country.
