KUALA LUMPUR: It’s not only physical stalking that is a crime – so is repeated online stalking, according to the Penal Code (Amendment) Bill 2022 (Act 574), says Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (pic).

Although the act of online stalking does not involve touching or causing injury, it can affect the victim mentally and emotionally.
