PETALING JAYA: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke says his party will not rule out a collaboration with Umno.
Such matters could happen as anything was possible in politics, he said.
Malaysian politics has undergone drastic changes since the 2018 general election, particularly with the absence of a single dominant party.
This makes collaboration between different parties more likely to happen, Loke said in an interview with a news portal.
“I will not rule out anything because what is important is that we (all parties) must be agenda based.
“As far as DAP is concerned, we want to strengthen Pakatan Harapan, we want to push for reforms, we want to put good governance as our main agenda and we also want to see better governance, more integrity in our government to fight corruption,” he said, adding that DAP was open to working with any party pursuing these same agendas.
Asked about Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s position as a prime minister candidate, Loke said the party was firmly behind the PKR president.
But he did not rule out the need for compromise if no party had a clear majority after the next general election.
