No district will be left behind, says Tengku Zafrul on development plans

KLANG: The Finance Ministry will not leave any district out of its development plans and programmes, says Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

Tengku Zafrul, who attended a Kenduri Rakyat (People’s Feast) in Kuala Selangor on July 7, added that all districts and localities would be given equal treatment.

He said he did not only visit Kuala Selangor but also other areas and districts throughout Malaysia.

The minister added he had also visited Shah Alam and Sepang in his capacity as Finance Minister.

"I am not just coming to Kuala Selangor as we are always meeting the people (everywhere else) to help out with economic matters," he said.

He cited the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) station in Puncak Alam as an example of other districts also being included in the ministry’s development projects.

According to Tengku Zafrul, his focus was on the Finance Ministry and it was important to comprehend the situation on the ground when policies are being formulated.

It is for this purpose, he said, that he goes visiting around the nation.

The event attended by Tengku Zafrul was organised by the Kuala Selangor chapter of the Malaysian Youth Club (MAYC), non-governmental organisations including those representing business entities as well as the district’s residents associations.

Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor Umno chief Datuk Jahaya Ibrahim said Tengku Zafrul's presence there was beneficial to the district.

"We welcome him here as well as in the rest of Selangor as we are always on the lookout for capable leaders," Jahaya said when contacted.

He added that he was unable to attend the gathering as he was at another event.

"But it is good that Tengku Zafrul met up with our business community and local residents," added Jahaya.
