Man allegedly beaten to death by wife, say Johor cops


JOHOR BARU: A local woman, believed to be high on drugs, has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband at a flat in Taman Daya near here on Friday (July 15).

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said police received calls from the public regarding the case at around 7.50am.

He said investigation found that the 44-year-old local male victim suffered injuries to the face and head believed to have been attacked with a blunt object.

“The 36-year old suspect was arrested not far from the crime scene at around 9.15am,’’ ACP Raub said in a statement.

He said the suspect tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine, adding that she has a criminal record of drug-related offences and causing injury.

ACP Raub added the suspect was believed to be under the influence of drugs during the incident.

“We are on the lookout for another male suspect believed to be involved in the case to assist us with the investigation,’’ he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder while the drug-related case is under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
