Fried chicken at RM1 a piece available in Dungun

A STALL in Dungun, Terengganu, has maintained its price of fried chicken at only RM1 per piece despite the rising cost of ingredients, Kosmo! reported.

Vendor Khairul Anuar Nordin said the low price tag was the reason he generated sales of about RM700 to RM1,000 daily.

“The profits are not high after you factor in the price of the chicken batter and cooking oil, along with the difficulty of getting cheap chicken,” said the father of one.

He needs about 10 to 20 chickens a day to run the business.

“I do not want to increase the price as it will burden my customers,” he said.

The 25-year-old said that although other businesses have raised the price of a small piece of fried chicken to RM1.50, he chose to maintain his prices so school students and those with large families would be able to afford it.

> The daily also reported on the “disappearance” of Instagram posts by celebrity Ameera Khan, better known as Little Miss Khan.

The 22-year-old younger sister of Neelofa had removed the posts, including her profile picture and biography description.

“Who can explain Little Miss Khan’s hiatus? I miss seeing her posts,” said a user on Twitter while sharing a screenshot of Ameera’s Instagram account.

However, she was still following the Instagram accounts of 46 of her family members, friends and other celebrities.

Prior to this, the celebrity courted controversy over “inconsistencies” in her appearance, where she would upload posts of herself donning the hijab with parts of her hair and neck still exposed.

There were also posts of her in the hijab, but at other times, she would appear without it, leaving her followers confused.

Ameera, in a statement to Kosmo! previously said she accepted public criticism with an open heart and called for others to pray for her so she might become a better person.

> Actress Farah Ahmad, who took on the role of an overprotective mother in the telemovie Amshar Bukan Asha, said she did not have the heart to beat her co-star who played her son.

Referring to 25-year-old singer Naim Daniel, she said it was their first mother-son collaboration in a movie and she found that they had good chemistry.

“I realised he was special throughout our scenes together. It was also incredible to see the way he mirrored me, especially during fight scenes,” Harian Metro quoted her as saying.

Farah, 45, said she did not want to hit him during certain scenes, as she herself did not beat her children.
