Work even harder to win the people’s hearts, says Dr Mah

BIDOR: Although support is increasing towards Barisan Nasional as seen in the last few by-elections, MCA must continue to work even harder to win the hearts of the people, says Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon (pic).

The MCA deputy president said it was important to continue efforts to capture the “heart and soul” of the people sincerely.

Dr Mah, who is also the Deputy Education Minister, said in the last few by-elections, it clearly showed that the support came from all communities.

“For me, what is important is we work harder, to ensure a victory overall for Barisan,” he said after launching the Tanjung Malim MCA coordination office here on Tuesday (July 5).

Dr Mah also said that MCA would rally their support behind any candidate from the Barisan component parties.

He said whoever the candidate from whichever component party, that is their (MCA) candidate.

“We need to give our full support to ensure a bigger victory for Barisan.

“In Perak especially, we as a team had undergone various challenges in 2008, with a change of government at that time.

“We went through the challenges together, and will continue to stand in solidarity to form a stable, guaranteed and a prosperous government,” he added.

Dr Mah said he was also looking at opening more centres at strategic locations at the Tanjung Malim parliamentary constituency.

He said Bidor is the first one, and he would be looking at other areas such as Slim, Tanjung Malim and Sungkai.

“This centre is for everyone from all communities who require assistance.

“During the Covid-19 pandemic, and with the movement control orders that time, my team had handed out over 10,000 food baskets consisting of dry items, vegetables, fish and chicken to the needy.

“Even during the recent floods in Bidor, my team was on the ground to offer help fast and efficiently,” he added.
