IPOH: The authorities will visit Ulu Chepor recreational park in Chemor to check on its condition after social media posts led users to ask if it was still open.
“I believe the park is under the Forestry Department but I might need to check (that) first," said Perak housing, local government and tourism committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi (pic).
"We will pay a visit soon to check on the condition,” she told reporters at Ipoh Garden Square here on Thursday (June 30).
Photographs showing conditions at the park were recently uploaded on Facebook, raising questions about its status.

According to a source, the park is currently under renovation and due to reopen in October.
“The park has been closed since the movement control order.
"Since then, several facilities have become worn out and broken, and these are being repaired before it reopens this year,” he said.
Separately, Nolee said the state cannot interfere with the Tasik Cermin Eco Park’s concessionaire issue since the contract was awarded by the Ipoh City Council.

“The newly-designated concessionaire has yet to respond as to whether or not it agrees to manage the park.
“As for the expenses incurred by the previous company, a decision should be made by the city council and new concessionaire if they want to (pay compensation) or not,” she said.
Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin had said on June 28 that the city council had invited Majuperak Holding Bhd to run the park after cancelling an agreement with the previous operator over licensing issues.
