Dr Wee to deliver speech at UN meet on road safety


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) will be delivering the Member state’s statement at the United Nations High-Level Meeting.

The Transport Minister arrived in New York City, United States on Wednesday (June 29) for a week-long official working visit.

He was accompanied by Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) chairman Prof Wong Shaw Yoon, Ministry officers from the Land Transport division.

“Chief on the agenda for us is attending the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Road Safety where I will be delivering the Member state’s statement.

“We are also attending the multi-stakeholder panel to discuss how to incorporate road safety into sustainable development built on political will and a whole-of-government approach,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
