Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run accident near Nilai


NILAI: A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident at KM270 of the North-South Expressway near here early Tuesday (June 28).

Acting Nilai district police chief DSP Mat Ghani Lateh said the victim was believed to have been heading towards Segamat in Johor from Shah Alam when the accident happened around 2.40am.

"We still can't establish if it was a car or other vehicle type which crashed into the victim's motorcycle.

"The victim was killed on the spot," he said in a statement.

DSP Mat Ghani appealed to witnesses to contact Insp Sharveen Raj at 011-2617 6424 to assist in the probe.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
