Johor cops probe case of blood donors receiving pork flavoured instant noodles in goodie bags

BATU PAHAT: Police are investigating a non-governmental organisation (NGO) following a report that blood donors allegedly received minced pork flavoured instant noodles during a blood donation drive.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the report was lodged by a Health Ministry official after some of the donors received the instant noodles in their goodie bags at 11.38am on Sunday (June 26).

“Investigations found that a joint blood donation drive had been organised between the non-governmental organisation and Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital at a shopping mall here on Sunday (June 26).

“After donating their blood, donors received the goodie bags donated by the non-governmental organisation.

“Some of the recipients are Muslims and they found the alleged mince pork flavoured instant noodles in their goodie bags,” he said in a statement here on Monday (June 27).

ACP Ismail added that police have set up a task force to carry out further investigation on the matter.

He said police have also called up several individuals involved in the matter and several items had been seized to help with the ongoing investigation.
