Five teens arrested over motorcycle thefts


KUALA LUMPUR: A group of five underage boys have been arrested on suspicion of being linked to the theft of several motorcycles.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak, in a statement on Monday (June 27), said the boys, aged 14 to 16, were arrested on June 22.

He said five raids were also conducted which led to eight motorcycles being seized.

"All suspects were known to target Honda EX5 and have expertise in jumpstarting the motorcycles.

“They have been remanded until June 29. All still students within the Ampang area," he said.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said with the arrest of the group, police believed they had solved eight stolen motorcycle cases.
