Cops bring 'space cookie' crew crashing down to earth

KUALA LUMPUR: Suspected drug dealers selling “space cookies” or cannabis biscuits have been busted by police during a two-day narcotics operation.

The first arrest was made on June 8, after a police team raided a condominium in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong.

“A 21-year-old man was caught with 13g of suspected methamphetamine.

He then led police to another condominium unit where more marijuana, meth and 12 pieces of cannabis biscuits were found,” Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai told a press conference at the district police headquarters on Monday (June 13).

He said information gained through interrogations led to two more raids on June 9, one in Bandar Menjalara and the other at Jalan Lintang, Batu Caves where six more people were arrested.

In total the police found 25.15kg of marijuana, 2.86kg of ecstasy and 83.4g of meth with an estimated value of RM248,490.

It is learnt that the cookies were sold at RM100 for six pieces.

ACP Beh said the group was known to have packaged the cannabis cookies but the police believe that they obtained it from another person.

"We are in the midst of tracing the ‘cook’ and we have some leads,” he said.
