Head to the Star Education Fair to chart your future

The chosen ones: Representatives of 33 universities and colleges attended an online balloting session to vie for strategic booths last week for the Star Education Fair 2022.

PETALING JAYA: After a two-year hiatus, the Star Education Fair is back for its 35th edition in the Klang Valley.

The 2022 edition has some of the biggest education institutions gathering once again under one roof to answer questions about studying locally and abroad.

These institutions will be at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil on June 25 and 26 for the annual fair.

A total of 33 universities and colleges attended an online balloting session to vie for strategic booths last week.

The Star Education Fair, widely dubbed as the country’s pioneer education exhibition, has provided visitors with a wide range of local and international courses and options from various institutions.

The fair prides itself in being a one-stop education exhibition for local and foreign exhibitors, offering educational programmes ranging from pre-university, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate as well as professional and vocational courses.

Visitors can also attend the education talks if they have not decided on which pathway to pursue.

The biggest exhibitors will be Mahsa University with eight booths and Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) with six booths.

Mahsa University centre for student application and registration head Mohamed Kassim Jafarullah said there would be scholarships available and rebates of RM500 and RM700 for on-the-spot registration.

“We have participated in the Star Education Fair for many years now.

“We hope our programmes such as our foundation, MBBS, dentistry and pharmacy courses will attract potential students at the fair,” he said.

APU student services and marketing senior director Muhammad Anis Ur Rehman said the university would offer deserving school leavers with a wide range of fee awards leading to rebates or discounts.

Besides academic excellence, he said the APU Awards recognise those with strong leadership qualities and high achievements in sports both at state and national levels.

“The Star Education Fair provides a strategic one-stop hub for school leavers and parents to explore what options they have for further studies and to get fully prepared to embark on their desirable careers.

“APU offers programmes that are technology-driven in all fields, ensuring long-term employability and future-proof careers in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0), post Covid-19 and beyond,” he added.

City University Malaysia senior marketing executive Revathesvari Ponnampalam described the Fair as an effective platform for students to explore their study options at the varsity’s booth before deciding on what course to pursue.

“We will provide scholarships worth up to RM20mil this year, and other interesting rebates and faculty-based scholarships will also be offered to eligible students,” she added.

Management & Science University (MSU) communication and branding manager Ahmad Ibrahim said their representatives would share details about MSU’s scholarships.

Among them include discounts for registration fees and scholarships up to RM170,000, and the Yayasan MSU, also known as the President’s Scholarship, given to students with exemplary academic achievements and who come from economically challenged backgrounds.

Incepted in 1987, the fair will be held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on June 25 and 26 from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free.
