Dr Wee: Apad to look into issues raised by taxi and rental car group

PETALING JAYA: Several issues brought up by a transport operators federation will be studied by the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said among the five issues brought up were fare rates, commission fixed by ehailing companies, the suggestion to develop an ehailing platform by a government-linked company, executive taxis, and issuing electronic vehicle permits.

"I told the Federation of Taxis, Rental Car, Limousines and Malaysian Airport Taxis after a meeting on Wednesday (June 8) that Apad and the Transport Ministry Land Division will study the matter," Dr Wee said on Facebook on Thursday (June 9).

"We will rope them in and see if any of the issues could be assisted with, and implement steps for improvement," he added.
