Khairy: Free Covid-19 tests for M'sian haj pilgrims only at Health Ministry facilities


PETALING JAYA: Covid-19 tests for Malaysian haj pilgrims at Health Ministry facilities will be free of charge, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The Health Minister also said, in a statement Thursday (June 2) that pilgrims who opt to take their Covid-19 tests at private facilities will have to bear the costs themselves based.

It was earlier reported that for this year’s haj pilgrimage, only those aged 65 and below, with no chronic illness, and in possession of a Covid-19 vaccination certificate would be eligible and they are also required to submit a negative Covid-19 PCR test result within 72 hours before departure.
