Stop making ‘arrogant’ remarks, Hamzah tells Ahmad Maslan

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has urged Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan to stop making “arrogant” statements that instigate conflict.

The Home Minister said Bersatu remains a strong party and has representatives in the Cabinet despite Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin’s decision to leave the party.

This follows criticism from the Umno secretary-general who described Bersatu as weak after the Ampang MP quit the party to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).

Astro Awani quoted Hamzah, who is Bersatu secretary-general, saying that Zuraida’s decision to join PBM had nothing to do with the party.

“Don't try to instigate conflict just because Yang Amat Berhormat is the prime minister. That's the position he has and based on the numbers (support), it’s not that much.

“The others are from other parties. I want to remind Ahmad Maslan, don't feel superior,” said the Larut MP during the PAS Aidilfitri open house at the Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh.

On Friday (May 27), Ahmad Maslan described Zuraida's move to leave Bersatu and join PBM as showing that the party under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was getting weaker.

On Thursday (May 26), Zuraida announced her resignation as Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister after leaving Bersatu.
