PETALING JAYA: Star Media Group (SMG) hosted a visit by Heineken Malaysia Berhad to usher in the coming Year of the Tiger.
Joining in the celebration this year at the foyer of Menara Star were two blue tigers, depicting Tiger Beer.
Expressing his thanks to Heineken for the visit, SMG CEO Alex Yeow said he was optimistic that business would be good this year.
“January is a vibrant month because many businesses are opening up.
“The celebration with Heineken shows positive energy and we are looking forward to a good year ahead,” he said.
Heineken Malaysia Berhad managing director Roland Bala is also optimistic about 2022.
“This year, we will roar together and have great business opportunities. The government announced that there will be no more total lockdown and this is good news,” said Bala, adding that the country also had a good vaccination rate at over 97% of the adult population.
During the visit, Heineken and the SMG management team also took the opportunity to toss the yee sang while members of the staff were treated to games with the grand winners taking home a special edition of the Tiger Beer mahjong set.
As part of the “The Year We Roar Together” campaign by Tiger Beer, thousands of ringgit worth of angpow, gold bars and other limited edition Tiger premiums are set to be won.
For the first time ever, Tiger Beer is venturing into the world of non fungible tokens (NFTs) with Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC), which will see 30% of the proceeds from the sale of the NFT collection, known as the “Tiger Archives”, channelled towards supporting musicians, artists and street food chefs via Tiger’s Uncage platform throughout the Year of the Tiger.
