41 students in Nilai test positive for Covid-19

SEREMBAN: Forty-one students at Politeknik Nilai here have tested positive for Covid-19, says state health exco S. Veerapan.

He said 11 students had initially tested positive on Dec 8 after they underwent screening.“As of Dec 15, 440 students and close contacts had been screened and 399 were found to be negative for Covid-19,” he said.

He added that 14 individuals who tested positive earlier had been allowed to go home after receiving treatment.

“Ten have been sent to the Tampin Quarantine and Treatment Centre, one admitted to the hospital and the remaining have been housed in a hostel at the polytechnic,” he said.

Another 38 close contacts have also been quarantined at another block.

Separately, Veerapan said 10 members of a family in Broga had been infected.

He said two individuals later returned to their home in Kg Broga and another three went back to theirs in Semenyih, Selangor.
