KUALA LUMPUR: To help our fellow Malaysians get back on their feet after the devastating pandemic wave, we need to help each other.
And one way we can do so is to support the Kempen Beli Barangan Malaysia.
The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry is leading the campaign. There will be various activities lined up for four days at Dataran Cenang in Langkawi from Nov 11 (10am-10pm) – performances by local artistes Azlan and The Typewriter, Baby Shima, Nuri, Fiq, and Afieq Shazwan; buskers; cultural shows; quizzes and lucky draws.
Some 20 homegrown brands will showcase their products such as food and beverage items, personal care, cosmetics, oral care, herbal merchandise, batik and handicraft.
Ghazi Affan Holding Sdn Bhd will be offering 15 personal care products under the brand name Swag.
“We will have special deals and promotions in Langkawi. Visitors can try our products and discover our perfume,” said its managing director Rozailmee Zulkeply.
Rozailmee, 38, said the brand Swag is four years old in the country, and he has explored the market in Australia, Japan, the United States and France. The products are available at Chois one-stop convenience stores in Langkawi, as well as pharmacies and retail outlets.
Nuri Enterprises will be promoting its seven food-based products.
“Visitors can buy and taste our signature products which are of export quality,” said marketing director Mohd Imran Mohd Kamal.
The company has 18 products such as bee hoon (rice vermicelli), laksa, kuah sate (satay peanut sauce), otak udang, kuah rojak, sambal pecal and fried onions under the Nureys brand, which are sold at hypermarkets and supermarkets.
Lieza Anggun Enterprise will be promoting 12 of its 17 products under the Mahsuri Gold range – cosmetic-based items and balm with natural ingredients for various uses. Besides Malaysia, the products are sold in Pattani, southern Thailand.
“We will give free samples as well as explain to visitors the analysis done on our products. Those who buy our products will get free gifts,” said company owner Zuliza Zainon, 37.
Zuliza said there will be a photo competition for visitors who take the best picture of themselves with the products.
NFA Technologies Sdn Bhd will offer seven of its 10 natural oral care products under the brand Mismis.
“We will give special offers and deals for visitors to our booth,” said its managing director Noormawarni Nordin, 40.
Noormawarni started out with extra cool mint toothpaste in 2018. She collaborated with the Malaysian Cocoa Board to use cocoa extract for its anti-bacterial property in her oral care products, which are sold in Brunei and Morocco.
Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Rosol Wahid will officiate at the campaign themed Jom Sokong dan Beli (Let’s Support and Buy) on Nov 13.
