Sarawak assembly dissolved effective Nov 3, says Abang Johari


KUCHING: The Sarawak Legislative Assembly has been dissolved with effect from Nov 3 following the King's consent to revoke the statewide Emergency, says Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The Chief Minister said the dissolution was proclaimed by Sarawak Governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud in accordance with Article 21(2) of the state constitution and Section 3(3) of the Emergency (Essential Powers) (Sarawak) Ordinance 2021, and after having been advised that legal and public safety and health considerations have been put in place.
