Covid-19: Pulau Mantanani folk among first in Sabah to receive CanSino vaccine

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has begun administering the single-dose CanSino Covid-19 vaccine, with about 650 villagers from Pulau Mantanani among the first to receive it in the state.

Pintasan assemblyman Fairuz Renddan, who was at the vaccination outreach programme at the island in the north-west Kota Belud district on Friday (Aug 27), said CanSino vaccine usage was being intensified especially in rural areas.

"I believe the single-dose CanSino vaccine will make it easier to realise the immunisation programme for those living in remote and hard-to-reach places," he said.

The Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia youth (Armada) chief said the drop in number of categories Four and Five cases, with most in categories One and Two, was proof that Covid-19 vaccines work.
