Man punches wife over alleged affair

KOTA KINABALU: A man allegedly threatened his wife with a parang and punched her after suspecting her of having an affair.

The 60-year-old suspect was said to have committed these acts at their house in Kg Siaun Menumbok at about 7pm on Friday.

Beaufort OCPD Deputy Supt Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said after threatening his wife, the suspect hit her waist.

“The victim then went to the police station to lodge a report.

“While she was giving her statement, police noticed that she was in pain and could not walk.

“The victim was then taken to the hospital for treatment,” he said.

DSP Yusoff Zaki said they would get more information from the victim once she was discharged.

He said the woman also claimed that her husband had assaulted her on several occasions before this.

“We will call in the suspect to assist in the probe soon,” he added.
