Man allegedly punches wife after suspecting her of having an affair in Beaufort

KOTA KINABALU: A man allegedly threatened his wife with a parang and punched her after suspecting her of having an affair.

The 60-year-old man from Beaufort district was said to have committed the offences at their house in Kg Siaun Menumbok, at about 7pm, on Friday (Aug 6).

Beaufort OCPD Deputy Supt Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said after the man threatened his wife, he allegedly punched her waist.

The woman then lodged a report and while giving her statement at the Beaufort police station, it was discovered that she was in so much pain that she could not walk.

“The woman had to be taken to a hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement Saturday (Aug 7).

DSP Yusoff said they will get more information from the woman after she is allowed to be discharged from the hospital.

The woman claimed that her husband had beaten her on several occasions.

Police will call the woman’s husband to facilitate investigations soon.
