Cops arrest two drug traffickers, seize drugs worth RM12,800

ALOR SETAR: Police have detained two men believed to be drug traffickers and seized drugs worth RM12,800.

Kedah Narcotics Crime Investigations Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Taufik Maidin said the two were arrested at two locations in the state capitol on Tuesday (Aug 3).

"Police raided an unnumbered house in Kampung Tengah at about 11.30am and arrested a 32-year-old man.

“Inspection in one of the rooms found a black plastic bag which contained two green plastic packets. “Each contains bright plastic packets with white lumps of drugs, believed to be heroin, weighing approximately 455g and 456g," he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 5).

ACP Mohd Taufik said the heroin was worth RM12,000.

He said following the raid, police went to a double-storey house in Jalan Sungai Korok and detained a 37-year-old.

“Inspection in a room found a black pouch with 0 transparent plastic containing drugs, believed to be syabu, weighing about 11.5g and worth RM800.

“The police also seized cash amounting to RM1,742,” he said and added that the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act.
