KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah wants Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to immediately call for a Parliamentary vote of confidence and not wait until September to clear the air over his majority.
"We demand that Parliament should convene immediately to show whether Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin indeed has the support in the house. This will clear the air and there is no need to wait until September," said party president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said the motion of confidence should be the sole issue debated in the immediate session.
"It should not be mixed up with other issues concerning the 12th Malaysia Plan and the Budget that will be discussed in the parliamentary session scheduled for September," he said on Wednesday (Aug 4).
Shafie reiterated his party's "firm stand" not to support the current Perikatan Nasional government.
He said Warisan's eight MPs were intact and reiterated their call for the Prime Minister and his Cabinet to resign.
Warisan's stand is shared by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat, Selangau MP Baru Bian and Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.
"Any news or reports being spread claiming that Warisan supports Perikatan are false and malicious," he said in apparent reference to a letter on a Warisan letterhead spread on social media claiming that Warisan was supporting the Perikatan government
