Two women held in Kuala Lumpur for suspicion of drug trafficking


KUALA LUMPUR: Two women in their 30s were detained in connection with trafficking in drugs following a raid at an apartment in Jalan Klang Lama here.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said police also seized an array of drugs from the apartment unit including 2.9kg of heroin and 261g of methamphetamine during the raid at about 7.50am on July 30.

"Both women tested positive for drugs.

"We believe the suspects have been in the drug trade between a year and 10 years," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Aug 2).

The police will investigate further to identify the syndicate involved in the trafficking in of drugs.

"The drugs seized, worth about RM43,750, could have fed 1,730 addict," he said.

The suspects have been remanded until Aug 6, he added.

Supt Basri urged anyone with information on any crime, especially involving drugs, to contact the nearest police station.
