“Do not worry Nur Dhabitah Sabri, you have done your best for the country.
“Your success in getting to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and being placed fourth has already made all Malaysians proud.
“Make this a valuable learning experience for you to paint a picture of success in the future,” he said in his Instagram post on Sunday (Aug 1).
The 22-year-old was placed fourth in the women’s individual 3m springboard competition.
Dhabitah was competing in her first Olympics final in the event, making it the best performance by a Malaysian diver in the individual final since Pandelela Rinong took home the bronze medal in the 10m platform event at the London Olympics 2012.
Dhabitah was making her second Olympics campaign in Tokyo.
In her Tokyo debut, the Kuala Lumpur-born diver made it to the 10m platform individual final where she finished ninth.
