Johor Ruler provides aid to Tanjung Sedili storm victims


JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has provided aid to the victims of a storm that hit Tanjung Sedili in the Kota Tinggi district.

According to a statement in the Sultan's Facebook page, some 281 boxes of basic food supplies and 281 boxes of instant noodles were given to the affected victims through Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor.

"The aid was given to families who are in the temporary shelters, as well as other victims,” it said in a statement on Saturday (July 24), adding that a total of nine families are currently seeking shelter at the two centres at SK Sedili Besar and SK Sri Setia Jaya.

The aid was handed over to the victims by Johor Mejar Cina Datuk David Wong.

Some 291 families from seven villages in the Tanjung Sedili area were affected by the storm that hit on Friday evening (July 23).
