EMCO for four areas in Sabah and Pahang from July 23

PUTRAJAYA: One locality in Sabah and three in Pahang will be placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 23.

In Sabah, Taman Merpati in Sandakan will be placed under EMCO while in Pahang, Felda Jengka 12 in Jerantut, Kampung Belangkap in Rompin and Kampung Orang Asli Ruai in Raub are affected.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the order would be in place for 14 days until Aug 5.

"Information on standard operating procedures for EMCO areas are available on the National Security Council website," he said on Wednesday (July 21).

Ismail Sabri also announced that the EMCO on two localities – Kampung Istimewa in Batu Sapi, Sandakan and One Borneo Condominium in Kota Kinabalu – would be extended until Aug 5.

Meanwhile, the lockdown on several localities will be lifted on Thursday (July 22).

These include the entire district of Seremban; Malaysia-China Industrial Park workers quarters in Gebeng, Kuantan; Taman Kurnia Jaya and Taman Pinggiran Golf in Kota Baru and Kampung Sungai Imam in Tawau.

The EMCO placed on Kampung Lembising and Kampung Dumpil Keramat in Putatan, Kampung Balibata in Beaufort and Kampung Pintasan in Kota Belud will also be lifted on Thursday.
