Sabah CM expresses appreciation over state Umno’s decision to remain with GRS


KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has expressed appreciation over the affirmation made by Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin in sticking with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Bung earlier announced that while the state Umno backs the party's decision to cease support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister at the national level, they would remain with its GRS partners that include Perikatan Nasional component parties, on the state level.

In a statement here Thursday (July 8), Hajiji, who is Sabah GRS chairman, said Bung's actions show consistency in the commitment to stay with the GRS state government as they strive to develop Sabah.

"The open statement showed the solid commitment of all GRS leadership to carry out the mandate given by Sabah folk to the GRS front.

“Our focus and priority remains at looking into the welfare of the people and the state," Hajiji said, adding that they are currently facing health, security and economic challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He reminded everyone in GRS to work together and be united to bring Sabah out of these problems.
