KJ: Only Health Ministry can issue digital vaccination certs, including for states with own programmes

PUTRAJAYA: The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force and the Selangor Mentri Besar's Office are working to develop a process flow for the implementation of the state's Covid-19 vaccination programme, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

He said this included the issuance of digital certificates for those who have been fully vaccinated as well as the vaccine management system.

He said the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) had decided that only the Health Ministry should issue digital certificates.

"There cannot be any other digital certificate other than the one that appears in MySejahtera.

"Most importantly, we have to look at the process flow of the vaccine management system which is the back end of the pharmacy, which must be consistent with what the ministry uses.

"We are working out the process flow with Selangor and with other states which are implementing their own vaccination programme," he said on Monday (July 5).

Khairy, who is the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister, said he was confident the target of 130,000 vaccinations a day in Selangor could be achieved with the opening of seven new vaccination centres (PPV).

"These centres can do more than 20,000 vaccinations a day and we are also increasing the capacity of the mega PPVs in the state by almost two times, in addition to more GP clinics and private hospitals doing vaccinations," he said.

Khairy also said the plan to ramp up vaccinations in the Klang Valley would include localities under enhanced movement control order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

"The targeted areas are already being covered by the accelerated vaccination strategies for the Klang Valley and those under enhanced MCO with vaccination dates can leave for their vaccination appointments," he said.
