Confusion reigns in Sabah as coffeeshops open for dine-ins, but ordered to pull back tables, chairs

Most coffeeshop operators withdrew their chairs at the tables after word got around that authorities were warning SOPs for no dine-ins were still enforced despite the Sabah government announcing that dine-ins will be allowed from Tuesday.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah coffeeshops which opened for the first day of dine-ins on Tuesday (June 29) morning have switched back to take-aways after only about an hour or two following warnings from enforcement officers.

Many owners and operators were caught off guard when enforcement officers told them that the take-away only standard operating procedure (SOP) was still enforced despite the state government's decision to allow dine-ins from Tuesday.
