Woman nabbed over roadblock rage incident

KOTA KINABALU: An entrepreneur has been arrested over a viral video in which a woman was seen ranting at policemen at a roadblock here.

Kota Kinabalu City police chief Asst Comm Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the woman was arrested at a condominium in Jalan Lintas here at about 11.30pm on Sunday to help with the investigation.

Police also seized the entrepreneur’s clothes, handphones, car registration card and car keys.

“We seized the woman’s clothing as proof of identification of the person in the video,” he said at the city police headquarters here yesterday.

ACP Zaidi said in the June 1 incident, police had issued the woman in the video a summons for driving with expired road tax and insurance.

“However, the woman started to create a stir and eventually uttered words that were threatening in nature.

“She said ‘nasib kau lelaki, kalau perempuan saya kasi telanjang kau dan rungkup kau’ (lucky you are a man, if you were a woman, I would strip you and pounce on you).”

ACP Zaidi said they had already recorded the statements of a police officer as well as seven other people, including Rela personnel.

He said the probe was under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, adding that a two-day remand had been obtained for the 34-year-old entrepreneur.
