KOTA KINABALU: Maintaining clean drainage and having a more effective flood forecasting system are among the ways to mitigate floods following downpours in the city, says Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

The Deputy Chief Minister said as there was no quick solution to floods at the moment, the next best way is to find ways to minimise it while the government works towards building the Likas Barrage - part of the flood mitigation masterplan in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan, which could cost up to RM800mil.
