MELAKA: Members of the state advertising association were treated to satay in appreciation of their registering for the Covid-19 vaccinations.
This was also for their efforts in ensuring their workers would get the jabs, said Melaka Advertising Association president Edison Chan.
He hopes the operations of the outdoor advertising industry will be reopened soon following overwhelming market demand.
“I treated 12 of my members who have shown me their vaccination registrations, including of their workers, to 50 sticks of satay each, ” he said when met at Bertam Satay in Taman Paya Rumput here on Wednesday.
Chan said he wanted the members and their workers to get vaccinated as his association wanted the outdoor advertising segment to be given the green light to resume operations.
“The advertising industry is in a strong position to return to its robust, pre-pandemic trajectory of growth, ” he said, adding that the industry was bouncing back strongly, especially among clients who were focusing on public health, edible items and real estate.
“The data collected by my association showed that the advertising contents in the media have done relatively well during the Covid-19 pandemic as many retailers wanted to reach the masses to keep their businesses afloat, ” said Chan.
He said the audience volumes had also grown steadily as people were spending more time reading news and surfing the Internet during the movement control order and lockdown.
