PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has identified 23 more Covid-19 clusters nationwide, of which 17 are workplace outbreaks.
Of the 17 workplace clusters, nine are outbreaks at factories.
One of them is the Industri Jalan Mawar cluster in Melaka, where 47 cases were detected among workers of a factory at Machap Umboo in Alor Gajah.
Its index case is a 33-year-old Bangladesh national, who tested positive on June 15 after developing symptoms.
Other workplace outbreaks were found involving workers at service companies and construction sites.
The Tapak Bina Air Panas cluster in Kuala Lumpur has 176 cases.
The cluster is linked to a construction site at Air Panas in Setapak, where 435 workers underwent a targeted screening exercise.
Another four new clusters were community outbreaks detected in Sarawak, Penang, Kelantan and Terengganu.
One cluster in Petaling Jaya is found to be an outbreak at an old folks home in Taman Kanagapuram.
The cluster has detected 12 cases from a targeted screening exercise conducted on 26 residents and staff of the home.
Meanwhile, an outbreak at a detention centre in Taiping, Perak has 327 cases.
Named the Tembok Taiping 2 cluster, the cases were detected from a targeted screening exercise conducted on 944 inmates at the detention centre.
Nationwide, there are now 810 active clusters.
